Overview

The site had to explain serious academic work to several audiences without getting dense or hard to navigate.

Challenge

  1. Translate research language into a more approachable web experience.
  2. Support varied content types while keeping the design cohesive.
  3. Build something polished enough to represent a major public programme.

Approach

  1. Worked in a React and Next.js stack with reusable UI patterns.
  2. Improved hierarchy, responsiveness, and content clarity.
  3. Left a more confident and flexible frontend structure behind.

Outcomes

  1. Produced a stronger public-facing research site.
  2. Struck a better balance between editorial storytelling and maintainability.
  3. Built up my experience with institution-facing product work.
