Overview
Architect and lead on an internal travel request and approval product that replaced email-and-spreadsheet workflows with a guided wizard, real-time messaging, and analytics.
Challenge
- Replace ad-hoc email and spreadsheet travel approvals with a single guided product.
- Give requesters, managers, and admins real-time status and conversation in one place.
- Surface organisation-wide travel spend and analytics for decision-makers.
Approach
- Designed and built SignalR real-time messaging: the hub, group taxonomy, typing indicators, and read receipts.
- Built the multi-step request wizard with cost validation, plus the analytics and reporting dashboard.
- Set up email-template infrastructure, HR calendar integration, and the Azure DevOps / Aspire pipeline.
Outcomes
- Authored the architecture guidance and led the full-stack build.
- Delivered real-time messaging and analytics the legacy process could not offer.
- Shipped on Azure Kubernetes with Key Vault and a CI/CD pipeline.
